Transferring Stock from One ULD to Another

You can transfer the entire ULD stock from one bin location to another bin location. There may also be times when you need to move only certain items from the existing ULD location to another ULD location.

ENG 8490 If your .wms system has single scan enabled, then you will be able to just scan an item to transfer it.

  1. Identify the stock on hand for the item and its location(s).

    In the .wms webUI, click Stock on the top navigation bar then select Stock ULD Location Report from the drop-down menu. Enter the Item Code for the item of interest.

    The Stock Reporting - Product ULD Locations page displays.

  2. Click the hyperlinked ULD Barcode for the ULD Location that the item is to be transferred from.

    The Stock - ULD Management page displays all the stock associated with this ULD.

  3. Confirm the item availability in your source location and the destination location.

  1. Log in to .wms on your RF scanner.

  2. Tap ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS.

    Tap the Additional Functions option on the main menu.

  3. On the next menu screen, tap ULD STOCK TRANSFER.

  4. Scan the barcode for the source ULD where stock is being transferred from.

    If prompted, select that this is the Source for the scanned barcode.

    All items contained within the ULD are displayed.

  5. Scan the barcode of the item being transferred.

    If you have scanned the barcode of an item not associated with the source ULD, an error message displays.

    Tap CLOSE on the error message then scan the barcode of a correct item in the source ULD.

  6. Enter the Number of Units of the item being transferred to the destination ULD.

    If you have single scan enabled, the quantity is assumed to be 1, so you will not be prompted for a quantity. You will also be prompted for any values that are tracked in your system, for example, expiry date.

  7. Tap SELECT.

  8. Repeat Steps 5-7 for all items being transferred from this source ULD.

    The scanned items display in the Products section at the bottom of the screen.

    If you make a mistake and scan an item from this source ULD that is not to be transferred, tap VOID LAST to remove the last scanned item from the product list.

  9. Once all items are scanned, scan the barcode of the Destination ULD where the items are being transferred to.

    If the destination ULD does not currently exist, tap CREATE ULD for a new ULD to be created.

  10. Select DESTINATION when prompted to specify whether the scanned ULD is the destination or source.

    All items at the destination ULD are listed.

  11. Review the scanned items to make sure these are the ones that are being transferred.

  12. Tap COMMIT TRANSFER.

    If an error message displays letting you know that stock is not available at the source for the item, then the quantity of the scanned item exceeds the stock on hand value. This must be corrected.

    1. Tap OK or CLOSE on the error message.

    2. Tap VOID LAST.

    3. Keep tapping VOID LAST until you get to the item which has the incorrect quantity.

    4. Scan the item again and enter the correct quantity then return to step 10.

    ENG 11253 When a transfer is successful, you will be alerted with a success sound from the RF scanner.

  13. Tap CLOSE.

  14. Physically move the items to their new location.

  1. In the .wms webUI, click Stock on the top navigation bar then select ULD Management from the drop-down menu.

  2. Enter the ULD Barcode for the source ULD.

  3. Check the quantities of the items that were transferred.

  4. Go back to Stock > ULD Management.

  5. Enter the ULD Barcode for the destination ULD.

  6. Check the quantities of the items that were transferred to the new ULD location are correct.
