Moving a ULD to a Different Bin

.wms records which ULDs are contained in each bin location. Bin locations in .wms are classified as bulk or picking locations. .wms treats stock in a bulk bin location as storage and items are not available to be picked from here. To fulfill orders using stock in a bulk bin location, the ULD containing the stock needs to be moved to a picking bin location. You can complete this stock move using a RF scanner.

Tip:  Use this method when you are moving the entire contents of a ULD from one location to another.

ENG 7234 You may be automatically directed to the ULD Location screen depending on the stock / item and how your system has been set up.

ENG 8755 When moving to a different ULD location, a default putaway strategy is in place for the closest bin that is empty.

If you wish to move individual items from a ULD within a bin location, then you will do a ULD stock transfer.

  1. Log in to .wms on your RF scanner.

    The .wms client main menu.

  2. Tap ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS.

    Tap the Additional Functions option on the main menu.

  3. On the next menu screen, tap ULD LOCATION MOVE.

  4. Scan the barcode of the current ULD which contains the stock that is being moved to a new location.

    The ULD ID field displays the scanned barcode.

  5. Enter the New Location where the stock is being moved to.

  6. Tap PROCESS MOVE.

    A message displays.

  7. Tap YES to confirm.

    You can review the history and movement of the stock by accessing the .wms webUI and viewing the Stock Movements Report or the Movements Log on the Stock > ULD Management page.

    ENG 11253 When a location move is successful, you will be alerted with a success sound from the RF scanner.
