Changing a User's Permissions
You must make sure that a user's set permissions in .wms are suitable to their role. Once permissions are set, options are only available to the user for the functions that they have permissions for.
Tip: The Permissions module must be enabled for any changes to be made to user permissions.
-
Log in to .wms webUI.
-
Click Settings on the top navigation bar then select Users from the drop-down menu.
The Settings - Users page displays all the current users of the system.
-
Find and select the user whose permissions you wish to change.
-
In the Actions column for the selected user, click Edit Permissions.
The Change User Permissions dialog box displays.
The listed permissions are grouped primarily into web permissions, handheld permissions and billing permissions.
-
Select the appropriate permissions for the user.
Available scenarios-
The user can be assigned superuser permissions.
If the user is to be a superuser, tick the Superuser checkbox. This means that this user is able to access all aspects of the system.
If the Superuser checkbox is ticked there is no need to select individual permission options.
-
If there is an existing permissions group that you wish to add the user to, select the appropriate Permissions Group from the drop-down list. If a permission group is selected, the permission options are automatically selected and highlighted. If you wish to make any changes to the selected permissions, you can still do this by clicking or unclicking an individual permission option.
-
Otherwise, click the appropriate permission option in the Web Access, Handheld Access and Billing Access sections to enable them for the user. You must first make sure that the Web Access, Handheld Access and Billing Access checkboxes are ticked.
Web access identifies a user as having web access. The associated Web Permissions must be selected for the user profile so that they can log in to the .wms webUI or access any of the functions available in the .wms webUI.
Handheld access identifies a user as having access to a RF scanner. The associated handheld permissions must be selected for the user profile so that they can log in to the RF scanner or use the functions available on the RF scanner.
