Using the Wave Builder
Wave picking is a picking method where orders with common characteristics are grouped together and picked at the same time to enable warehouse efficiency during the order fulfillment process. Orders can be grouped using a number of characteristics such as order priority, freight carrier, delivery address, SKU and warehouse zone.

Shipping orders are created.

Build the wave.

Pick and pack the items in the wave using a RF scanner.

Check that all orders are complete.

Log in to .wms webUI.

Click Shipping on the top navigation bar then select Wave Builder from the drop-down menu.
The wave builder page displays.

Complete the details in the left pane for the specifics of the wave.
Field
Description
Warehouse
Select the appropriate warehouse from the drop-down list.
Select All Warehouses if you wish to include orders from all warehouses to this wave.
Tenant
Select the appropriate tenant from the drop-down list.
Select All Tenants if you wish to include orders for all tenants in this wave.
Pick Zone
Optionally, select the appropriate pick zone from the drop-down list, if needed, for this wave.
Filter
Optionally, enter a filter based on the available search prefixes.
To save this filter to be used again in the future, click the arrow at the end of the field, then select Save This Filter.
The Save Filter dialog box displays.

Enter a descriptive Name for this filter.

Click Save Filter.
Wave Priority Score
Optionally, enter a priority for this wave.
The larger the number, the higher the priority.
Comment
Enter a description or comment about this wave.
Pick Method
Select a method from the drop-down list to be used for this wave.
Available options:
- Bulk - pick all line items on the wave then pack each order at the pack bench.
- Bulk Then Array Sort - used for single SKU single unit orders, for multiple orders with the same SKU. Pick all the items on the wave then pack the order at the packing bench.
- Bulk to AutoConsign - depending on your configuration, either a consignment label is printed for each item or one consignment label is printed for each order.
- Bulk to Manual - pick all items then pack at the packing bench. Then input the number of consignment labels needed.

Pick To Carton - pick and pack directly into a carton.
Note: To use this method, item master data must be accurate and carton sizes must be configured.
- Pick To Order - pick items and place in the allocated slot. One slot for each order. Then pack each order at the packing bench.
- Pick To Tote - pick items and scan them into a tote. Generally, one tote for each order. Then pack each order at the packing bench.
Carrier
Optionally, select the appropriate carrier from the drop-down list.
Service
Optionally, select the appropriate carrier service from the drop-down list.
ATP Type
Optionally, select the appropriate available to promise type from the drop-down list.

Assigned User
Select the user who will be assigned this wave task.
The Available Orders centre pane updates to list the orders that match your selections.

Choose the sort sequence of the orders for this wave by clicking an appropriate option at the top of the Available Orders centre pane.
The orders are then sorted in ascending or descending sequence based on the sort selection.

Click a listed order in the Available Orders centre pane to select it.
The order is then moved to the Orders Selected pane on the right.

Continue to select orders, as needed.
Click Select All Available in the left pane to move all the listed and sorted orders in the Available Orders centre pane to the Orders Selected pane on the right.
If you select an order by mistake, click the order in the Orders Selected pane on the right to move it back to the Available Orders centre pane.
A summary of all the selected items that are to be picked as part of this wave are listed in the table at the bottom of the page.

Review and check the orders that are to be included as part of this wave.

Click Create Wave.
A message displays on the screen listing the new wave job number.
The wave ticket may be generated and printed to a label printer or A4 printer.
An operator scans the barcode on the wave ticket to access the wave using a RF scanner.
