Managing Composite Items
A composite item is a single product that is made up of 2 or more items and/or services. Using composite items, you can create kits and sell them for customised rates.
Make sure that each item that will make up the composite has an item master data record.
Matthew runs a home appliance store. At Christmas time, he provides bundled appliances that when bought together are sold at a discounted rate; such as a kettle and a toaster. Both the kettle and toaster have unique item codes and stock on hand values. The .wms composite items feature enables Matthew to put together all items and/or services to create a kit. He then sells this kit at a discounted rate. An order for the composite items is reduced to a single line item which instructs staff to pick both items for a customer. The package of the 2 items is assigned a unique item code.
